Privacy Policy

What Fabrication Plan collects, why, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

1. Who we are

Fabrication Plan is operated by QuietMedia, LLC ("QuietMedia", "we", "us"). Fabrication Plan is a subscription software service for custom fabrication shops: estimating, scheduling, time clock, inventory and purchasing, shop messaging, and electronic signatures. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Fabrication Plan website (fabricationplan.com) and application (app.fabricationplan.com) — together, the "Service" — and what we do with it.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When a shop signs up, we collect the administrator’s name, email address, phone number, shop name, and trade specialties. When team members join, we collect their name, email, phone number, and role.

Shop data your shop enters. The Service holds your shop’s operational data: projects, estimates and line items, clients, suppliers, inventory, purchase orders, resources and schedules, shop settings, and team messages (including voice messages and their transcripts).

Time and attendance data. Employees clock in and out through the Service, including by scanning QR codes. This produces time entries, timesheets, break records, and associated notes and photos.

Photos and documents. Users may upload project attachments, business card photos, and job-site photos. Business card images are processed by OCR to extract contact details.

Voice data. If you use voice dictation or voice messages, your audio is converted to text by our speech-processing subprocessors. We store the transcript and, for voice messages, the audio.

Payment information. Subscription billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe gives us a customer ID, subscription status, and seat count.

Usage and device data. Like most web services, we receive standard technical data when you use the Service: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and error logs.

Preferences. The marketing site stores your language preference in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.

3. Employee data: your shop is the controller

Much of the data in Fabrication Plan is about a shop’s employees and is entered by, or generated while using tools provided to, that shop — time entries, photos, voice messages, schedules, and contact details. For that data, the shop is the data controller and QuietMedia is the data processor: we handle it only to operate the Service on the shop’s instructions.

If you are an employee, your shop’s administrator controls what is collected about you, who can see it, and how long it is kept. Privacy requests about your workplace data should go to your employer first; we will assist shops in honoring them.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service — including scheduling, conflict detection, estimating, time tracking, messaging, and e-signature routing;
  • Process subscriptions and seat-based billing through Stripe;
  • Send transactional email (invites, signature requests, project notifications) through our email subprocessor;
  • Transcribe voice input at your request;
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • Monitor for abuse, secure the Service, and debug errors;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your shop’s data, documents, photos, or voice recordings to train third-party foundation models.

5. Who processes data for us

The Service runs on a small set of subprocessors, each under contract and each handling only what it needs to:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage;
  • Vercel — application and website hosting;
  • Stripe — subscription payment processing;
  • Amazon Web Services (SES) — transactional email delivery;
  • Microsoft Azure — speech-to-text transcription;
  • Documenso — electronic signature envelopes and signing.

Fabrication Plan is hosted in the United States, and your data is stored, processed, and backed up in the United States.

6. When we share information

We share personal information only:

  • With the subprocessors above, to operate the Service;
  • Within your shop, according to the roles your administrator assigns (for example, shop messages and schedules are visible to your team);
  • With your shop’s own clients, when your shop shares estimate or project links or routes documents for signature;
  • If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — with notice to you before your data moves and becomes subject to a different policy.

7. Retention and security

We keep shop data for as long as the shop’s subscription is active. Your data belongs to you: you may export and collect it at any time during your subscription, and for 90 days after the subscription ends — including after a cancellation or a lapsed payment, even though app access is otherwise suspended. After that window, it is deleted from production systems, and encrypted backups age out on their normal cycle. All data, including backups, is stored in the United States.

We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, row-level tenant isolation in the database, hashed API credentials, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify the affected shops without undue delay.

8. Your rights and choices

Regardless of where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to Support@fabricationplan.com. Shops can export or delete their operational data at any time.

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and disclose, to request deletion and correction, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Because most workplace data is controlled by your shop, we may direct your request to your shop’s administrator, and shops may direct employee requests to us where we can act on their instructions.

9. Children, changes, and contact

The Service is for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced by email to shop administrators before they take effect.
